Granted, employers should do this regardless of the employee's salary (especially if the funds are there!) ... but we aren't talking WalMart greeters here. And like you, he actually did his homework on the issue. Unlike the rest of the mainstream media that want sound bites and don't go into things fully. Instead of Dikta flapping his gums to the media, he needs to put together a plan for the players union and the players to vote on. I don't think that todays players would be too upset with putting aside a little money now so they can have continual health coverage after they "retire" from football. Yesterday Tuesday Morning Quarterback wrote about this topic as well. And like you, he actually did his homework on the issue. Unlike the rest of the mainstream media that want sound bites and don’t go into things fully.

The only effective way is through a boycott of NFL merchandise. Even a week or two boycott would send notice to the powers-that-be that the fans are mad as hell and not going to take it any more. As for me, I am starting my boycott (I already boycott Micheal Vick crap for another reason). NO NFL hats, shirts, game attendance, tie in, etc... till I see some changes.
