Just the other day i was reading this fine website, and it struck me that there was a definite east coast bias. As a loyal reader i welcome this injection, even if only momentary, of coastal balance in sporting observations.

I just want to point out that you are an editor, meaning you can correct these oversights. (My oversight in this case because I did most of the tagging when I edited)

How am I supposed to take this article and, therefore, this website seriously when the biggest drama in sports in not even mentioned.

You need my West Coast help now more than ever.

Kobe, Kobe, Kobe.

Coverage Level: 4.5
Entertainment Level: 1.6
Sports Value: either a .8 or a 5.1 (yes, I just blew the top off of the scale)

In a week when the NBA news stories of the week should have been Bron-Bron's coronation or the quietest dynasty in NBA history, we instead were inundated (at least in LALA land) by news that Kobe Bryant is DEMANDING a trade out of LA. "I would like to be traded. And as tough as it is to say that, as tough as it is to come to that conclusion, there's no other alternative."

Say it ain't so! Our beloved potential felon (any crimes committed as 8 were instantly forgotten in his new number 24 version) wants to leave the land of Hollywood for another big market team that can win a title tomorrow.

Three hours later, shocked that he could not be traded to San Antonio for this year, Kobe renounced his trade talks and claimed to love LA and has always loved LA. "I don't want to go anyplace else. I don't want to. I want to be a Laker. I want to be here for the rest of my career." The city was pleased when the deities of "Abdul-Jabbar" and "Johnson" were evoked by the potentially rogue Bryant and all was well again in the city.

A mere five hours later, however, Bryant told an LA Times reporter that he did still want to be traded.

In Bryant's first back-track he said "I'm tired of talking." What a coincidence. I'm tired of hearing about it.

In a week of intense sports drama, leave it to LA to produce the grandest and least relevant drama of them all.
